Norwegian Arms Releases EP

I was recently contacted by Brendan from Norwegian Arms (also one of the founding members of the Ox, a do-it-yourself venue in Northern Liberties whose current status is up in the air) and learned of the release of a 3-song EP, Trimming of Hides. I was told to think of this act as a weird folk duo, which is a simple yet completely accurate description.

While the name "Norwegian Arms" has been around for some time, it was the -40 degree Russian weather (which Brendan endured during his year-long stay in Russia teaching English) and the conveniently small mandolin that gave him the motivation to push his project further, thus creating the EP.

Where the songs lack in length, they make up for in intrigue and energy. I have no doubt that you'll find yourself pressing replay over and over, as these catchy, mandolin-driven songs certainly left me wanting more. You can download Trimming of Hides here for FREE. Brendan is a firm believer that music, "or at least audio files should be free." Lucky for me (and you)!
